NEWS: Watson: EU must not become money launderer for authoritarian leaders

Sir Graham Watson MEPA new European Parliament report on EU policy towards the leaders of authoritarian regimes will be discussed in the Parliament’s Foreign Affairs committee later today.

Ahead of the debate UK Liberal Democrat MEP Sir Graham Watson, who drafted the report, said: “The EU’s hypocritical stance towards the leaders of authoritarian regimes needs to stop. We publically denounce their human rights records, while letting them busily stash all their money away in our banks, send their children to our schools and holiday in our resorts.” Continue reading
